The Distant Hours - Kate Morton I didn't like this book as much as I did The Forgotten Garden. It took me a really long time to finish this book. I found myself having a difficult time in even picking it up to read. The story was really two stories in one. One story took place in present day and was about Edie's relationship with her mother's mysterious past during the war evacuations and her stay at Milderhurst Castle. The second story takes place in 1941 and the mysteries concerning the Blythe family in particular a tragedy that befalls the youngest of the Blythe sisters. Frankly, I liked the present day story much better, and was sad to see that this storyline was few and far between. Overall the book felt too long and there seemed to be a lot of nothing going on to move the story along.
